What we do
Whole-house reroofs through to a single cracked tile. If you're not sure which one you need, we'll tell you straight after the inspection.
Re-roofing
Stripping a tired roof back and replacing it with new longrun steel — including underlay, flashings, ridging and any rotten timber we find underneath.
Best for roofs past 30 years, or leaking in more than one place.New roofs
Roofing and cladding for new homes, sleepouts, minor dwellings and additions. We work to plan, coordinate with your builder and handle the paperwork at the other end.
Best for builders, architects and homeowners mid-project.Insulation, while the roof is off
With the old roof lifted, your ceiling cavity is open from above for the first time since the house was built. We can lay new insulation while we are up there — properly seated, right into the corners, with no gaps around the edges.
Best done with a re-roof or new roof. Ask us at the quote — it is far cheaper now than later.Working in with solar installers
We do not install the panels, but we work in with the crews who do. That means getting the roof sorted first, flashing the mounting penetrations properly, and coordinating so the two trades are not fighting over the same roof on the same day.
Best for anyone putting solar on — talk to us before the panels are ordered.Commercial roofing
Warehouses, light industrial, retail and multi-unit. Large-span longrun, staged work to keep a site trading, and the documentation main contractors need.
Best for property owners, facilities managers and main contractors.Roof repairs and maintenance
Repairs to flashings, valleys, penetrations, ridging and failed sealant, plus planned maintenance to keep a sound roof sound — checking and re-fixing screws, clearing gutters and valleys, and sorting the small things before they turn into a leak.
Best for a stain on the ceiling, or a roof you would rather look after than replace.Roof inspections and reports
A proper look over the whole roof with photographs, and a written report on its condition, what needs doing now, what can wait, and roughly how many years it has left. Useful before you buy a house, before you budget, or when an insurer or body corporate wants it in writing.
Best for buyers, landlords, property managers and body corporates.Spouting, fascia and downpipes
Continuous or sectional spouting, new fascia and downpipes. Overflowing spouting is one of the most common causes of rot in Auckland homes.
Best for overflowing gutters, rusted fascia or water pooling at the foundations.Work with our crew
We run as a subcontractor for building companies and main contractors across Auckland, and we turn up when we say we will. Programme dates, H&S paperwork and producer statements all handled.
Best for builders who need a roofer they can put on the programme.Twenty years of Auckland roofs
LRC is family owned and operated. We have spent over twenty years in the industry, and in that time we have put roofs on new homes, taken forty-year-old iron off villas, and worked alongside some of Auckland's building companies on jobs that had to be right the first time.
We are Licensed Building Practitioners in roofing and members of the Roofing Association of New Zealand, so the work is done to the trade’s own standards, not just to whatever gets the job finished fastest.
Family owned means the name on the van is the name on the line. If something is not right, you are not chasing a call centre in another city — you are talking to the people who did the work.
Longrun, and all of it
Longrun is what we specialise in. Sheets rolled to the exact length of your roof, so there are no horizontal joins and far fewer places for water to get in. The profile you end up with depends on the pitch, the span and the look you're after.
Corrugate
The profile most people picture when they think of a New Zealand roof. Suits villas, bungalows and anything where the roof should look like it belongs on the street. Handles complex shapes and curves well.
Trapezoidal
Deeper ribs, so it spans further between purlins and copes with lower pitches and long runs. The usual choice for commercial buildings, sheds and modern residential with big uninterrupted roof planes.
Standing seam and tray
Concealed fixings and a clean vertical line, with no screws showing through the face of the roof. Architectural work, and roofs where the finish matters as much as the weathertightness.
Ask about your corrosion zone before you pick a coating
Most of Auckland sits within a few kilometres of the coast, and salt spray eats cheaper coatings from the underside first — where you'll never see it. Getting this wrong is the single most expensive roofing mistake we get called out to fix.
We check the sea spray zone for your address at the inspection and quote the coating grade that actually carries a warranty there — not the one that makes the quote look cheapest.
Pick a colour before you pick a roofer
Colour is the part everyone has an opinion on, and the hardest thing to picture from a small swatch. This is the full COLORSTEEL range — tap any of them to see it across a roof.
Whites and off-whites
Light and mid greys
Sands and naturals
Greens
Reds
Blues and charcoals
Near blacks

What customers say
A few words from people whose roofs we have done.
“We’ve used L.R.C NZ Ltd to replace the roofs on three of our homes, and each experience has been outstanding. Their team is consistently professional, reliable, and efficient, delivering high-quality workmanship every time. The new roofs not only perform exceptionally well but have also greatly enhanced the overall appearance of our homes.
We highly recommend L.R.C NZ Ltd and will definitely be using them again for our next project.”
Hayden and Melissa Smith
“Quoted on the Tuesday, scaffold up the following Monday, and the whole roof was done in four days. Site was spotless every night.”
Nick Pakel“Two other roofers told us we needed a full reroof. LRC found the actual leak, fixed it for a fraction of that, and told us we had a good ten years left.”
Bryan Tracey“They dealt with the insurance company for us after the storm, which took the whole thing off our plate.”
Jim CurryQuestions we get asked
What does a reroof cost in Auckland?
It depends on the size and pitch of the roof, how much scaffolding is needed, the profile and coating grade, and what we find under the old roof. Rather than guess, we come and look first, then give you an obligation-free written price with everything itemised.
How long will the job take?
A standard single-storey reroof is usually three to five working days on the roof, plus a day either side for scaffolding. Repairs are often same-day. Weather can move things, and we'd rather wait a day than lay a roof in the wrong conditions.
Do I need council consent to reroof?
Usually not, if you're replacing like with like. You may need it if the roof structure changes, if the building is scheduled or in a heritage zone, or if you're switching to a much heavier or lighter roof. We'll tell you which situation you're in at the quote stage.
Will my house be open to the weather?
No. We work in sections and never leave a roof open overnight. If rain comes through mid-job the roof gets closed up or covered before we leave the site.
Can you put insulation in at the same time?
Yes, and it is the best time to do it. Retrofitting ceiling insulation normally means someone crawling through a hatch on their stomach, working blind around joists and downlights, and it is slow, expensive and rarely gets right into the corners. With the roof off we are working from above in daylight, so it goes in complete.
If you are a landlord it is also the moment to sort your Healthy Homes ceiling insulation, rather than paying twice for two separate trades and two separate visits. Mention it when we come to quote and we will price it alongside the roof so you can see what the extra actually costs.
I am getting solar. Should the roof be done first?
Almost always, yes. Panels last around twenty-five years and are bolted through the roof, so if the roof underneath has ten years left in it you will be paying someone to take the whole array off and put it back before you are done. Doing the roof first costs far less than doing it twice.
We do not install panels ourselves, but we work in with the installers: we get the roof right, flash the mounting penetrations so the roof still sheds water and the warranty still stands, and sort the order of works so both crews are not on the same roof on the same day. If solar is on your list, tell us at the quote even if it is a year or two away.
Do you do insurance work?
Yes. We can do an emergency make-safe, document the damage with photos, write a report in the format assessors expect, and liaise with your insurer directly if you'd prefer not to.
What guarantee do I get?
A written workmanship guarantee from us, plus the manufacturer's material warranty on the roofing itself. Both are handed over at sign-off along with the paperwork for the coating grade used.
